Musical Awakening
Today, I’ve been fortunate enough to sample a copy of the new Metallica album, Death Magnetic, that comes out Friday. I’m currently 6 tracks through and I have a few things to say.
1. If this album and St. Anger were to fight, DM would smash SA’s face into the ground to knock it out, then go to SA’s house and fuck it’s mother, just for the fun of it.
2. There are musical feelings I’ve had hidden for so long in my heart and this album has woken them up.
3. If this album were a woman, she wouldn’t give me the time of day. She would go over to Brad Pitt’s house and spit in his face, and he’d still love her for it. He would even punch Angelina in the crotch just for a second chance to be spit on by her.
This album has impressed me right form the start. There are solos all over the place, phenomenal guitar work, and the songs are all around 7 minutes long (reminiscent of old style Metallica).
Now I stuck by Metallica through Load and Reload, and I love those albums, but St. Anger was so boring that I gave up. After hearing Death Magnetic, I’m re-energized in my Metallica faith.
The album comes out on Friday. Buy it. I will be.

You could not be more right!
Firstly. Load and Reload. BEAUTIFUL albums. They really kept me going through the dark days of rock.
St Anger? A bands biggest mistake. Metallica are lucky that us fans haven’t shunned them for the rest of their life that that ‘album’, if you can call it that. I call it a coaster. Yes, I bought it. But it currently has mug stains, and my ‘to-do’ list written on it.
This new album.. They’re alive again! They’ve gone back to the basics of what their music was purely about, and incorporated it into every song.
I hope they’re proud.

Agree new album is great. Have listened to it several times already. They’ve gone back to their roots. Check out my blog if you get a chance. Just started it. I wrote about the new album as well. Thanks.
